Provisional Admission
for Graduate and Undergraduate Wayne State University Applicants
International students interested in an admission to a degree program after they complete their English studies at Wayne State, should include the following information in their application package:
- Wayne State University International Graduate or Undergraduate Admission Application
- application fee payable to Wayne State University
- Copy of the first two pages of the student’s passport
- Copy of dependents’ first two pages of passport if applicable
- Statement of Support Form or scholarship letter
- Copy of the student’s transcripts
- One passport-sized photo of the student

Please do not submit any documents online, since all online applications are processed by other University offices.
Students meeting the requirements for Provisional Admission will receive an ELI I-20, an official ELI admission letter and an official letter of acceptance from the University in an academic program for the following year. These should all be presented at the student’s visa interview.
NOTE: Students will study full-time in the ELI program until they meet the Wayne State University English proficiency requirement. The ELI I-20 will be changed into a University I-20 after the student meets the English language proficiency requirements for fulltime admission.
